A couple of Chandler gangsters kept things extra gangsta this morning, when police say one thug shot another.

Chandler Detective Frank Mendoza tells New Times that about 10:20 a.m. today, an 18-year-old male was shot at a home at 449 West Ray Road in Chandler. He took bullets to both his chest and abdomen, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

It's still very early in the investigation, Mendoza says, and details are limited. He says it's unclear if the gangsters had been arguing prior to the shooting, or what could have prompted one thug to shoot the other.

"We're going door-to-door, and alley-to-alley trying to figure out what happened," he says.

At the moment, nobody is in custody for the shooting, but the suspect is described as a Hispanic male, last seen wearing a white-t-shirt with khaki pants. He's about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, with a medium build, and tattoos on both arms.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chandler Police Department at 480-782-4130.
