Peoria police will man a DUI checkpoint at the entrance to Lake Pleasant on Castle Hot Springs Road on Monday, and Tempe will host a DUI task force.

The enforcement efforts are aimed at reducing vehicle collisions on what is considered "one of the most deadly holidays for motorists," says Peoria PD. All motorists will be stopped at the Lake Pleasant checkpoint and looked over by cops. In Arizona, drivers can get a DUI for being impaired to the "slightest degree."

Another thing to watch out for this weekend is the "click it or ticket" program that began this week across the state. Although Arizona is still considered a secondary seat belt law -- one in which cops may not pull you over just for a seat belt violation -- it sounds like officers will be especially vigilant for the next few days.

Tempe announced it is part of the program and reminds the public that a violation can result in a $75 ticket.
