Boyer came in from the bullpen to protect a 4-1 lead at that point, and promptly allowed a slew of singles from the Los Angeles lineup, which propelled Russell Martin. Then came Daniel Schlereth, who gave up a ribbie single to Andre Ethier and permitted Mark Kemp to get over to third. Esmerling Vasquez was next up, and looked like he should've been playing in Williamsport as James Loney batted Kemp into the dish. In the end, it was a four-run, six-hit frame that fueled a Dodgers comeback.
The Snakes lost their sixth straight and have been justly rewarded for such an accomplishment by falling past San Diego to occupy the NL West basement at 61-79. There's still plenty of time left in this season to go for the Full Monty and lose a few more games, pushing past Pittsburgh and Washington to claim the title of "the worst team in baseball."
