Desaraye Barragan told police she was "stupid and hungry" when she was driving her car 105 miles per hour on  Interstate 10 earlier this week, which tends to happen when you smoke a joint while driving a car.

From a legal perspective, having weed, ecstasy, and three minors in the car at the time certainly won't help Barragan.

According to court records obtained by New Times, about 11:30 p.m. Monday, a Phoenix police officer spotted a 2003 Nissan Altima doing about 96 mph while driving eastbound on the I-10 near 79th Avenue.

The officer followed the car as it swerved down the freeway, ultimately reaching speeds of 105 mph in a 65 mph zone.

The officer pulled the vehicle over on I-10 near 19th Avenue. When he approached the driver's side window, the officer immediately smelled weed, and the driver -- Barragan -- was suffering from a case of "droopy" eye. In addition to that, the officer notes in his report that Barragan's eyes were bloodshot and watery and that her speech was slurred.

Fairly certain that Barragan was stoned, the officer searched the car and found the following: a weed pipe, weed, ecstasy, and three minors -- two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old.

Barragan and each of her passengers admitted to smoking a joint in the car. They told the officer they threw it out the window just before getting pulled over -- again, when Barragan was doing about 105 mph with weed, ecstasy, and minors in the car.

Once in custody, Barragan told police she knew she was driving more than 100 mph while smoking a joint. Her reason: she was "stupid and hungry."

Barragan's appetite -- and her lead foot -- got her booked into jail on two counts of aggravated DUI with a passenger under 15, 10 counts of dangerous drug possession, one count of marijuana possession, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of endangerment,  three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and one count of exceeding 85 mph.
