If it weren't for America's Most Wanted, a lot of people would probably have forgotten about the Sun City pediatrician accused of distributing kiddy-porn who is currently on the run.
But AMW has kept Dr. Emilio Luna's name in the headlines after featuring him on the show last week -- and we're happy to help give a friendly reminder that this guy's still on the loose.
Luna, a pediatrician at Desert Valley Pediatrics was indicted by a federal grand jury in September on five counts of distributing child pornography in interstate commerce.
Luna, 40, was arrested after federal investigators accused him of sharing kiddy porn -- some of which was adult-on-child -- over the Internet.
The alleged pederast used the Internet handle "Speedi69," to distribute the images to other pederasts, authorities claim. The FBI stumbled upon one of the images, looked up the IP address, and linked them to Luna's Sun City home.
Federal agents obtained a search warrant for
Luna's house and seized three computers, four external hard drives, and
about 300 DVDs, some of which were encrypted. They also found about
$15,000 in cash in a file folder in his closet and several passports.
Luna
was released from custody on the condition that he turn over his
passports, wear an electronic monitoring bracelet, and, most
importantly, stay the hell away from kids.
He also signed a
voluntary agreement with the Arizona Medical Board that prevents him
from practicing medicine in Arizona indefinitely.
But Luna didn't do that -- rather, he told authorities he was going to
church, cut off his monitoring bracelet, and hasn't been seen or heard
from since.
Authorities say Luna probably crossed into Mexico, but he might also be hiding out in Texas, Illinois, or California.
