Scott Bales...The Arizona Diamonbacks lost last night to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10 innings, after Arizona closer Chad Qualls blew the save by giving up two runs in the ninth inning. L.A.'s Andre Ethier then provided the game-winning homer in the bottom of the 10th inning...Bisbee High School football Coach Truman Williamson died in a car crash Thursday afternoon near Sierra Vista. According to the Department of Public Safety, Williamson crashed his pickup truck into an embankment and was pronounced dead at the scene. Williamson's son says he believes his father may have had a heart attack at the wheel...Police say a Catholic priest and a woman are hospitalized in serious condition after a man stabbed them at a church in South Phoenix. The suspect, 50-year-old Carlos Miguel Manriquez, was booked into Maricopa County Jail and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Police have recovered a weapon, but do not know a motive for the stabbings at this time...


The World Wildlife Zoo & Aquarium in Litchfield Park welcomed its first new lioness in 20 years. A lioness cub recently arrived from a facility in Ohio, and zookeepers say she's settling in at her new home nicely...An armed robbery at a Circle K store at 67th Avenue and Thomas Road ended this morning with an officer-involved shooting. The incident started with a robbery at another Circle K location, which led to a chase that ended at the Circle K at 67th Avenue. According to police, the suspect got out of his vehicle with a gun, and officers fired at least one shot. The suspect was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital...A woman in Pennsylvania has been sentenced to six months of house arrest after trying to sell "gothic kittens" on the Internet. The black kittens' ears and necks were pierced, and PETA brought the kittens to the attention of authorities. The would-be kitten-seller will have to shut down her dog-grooming business but will be allowed to keep her pets.
