Joe Arpaio Pal Ron Ludders Trains Recall Blockers Tonight

Speaking of shenanigans, you may remember Tea Party generalissimo Ron Ludders for his escapades during the 2011 recall of ex-state Senate President Russell Pearce, and during Pearce's ill-fated comeback attempt in the 2012 GOP primary for state Senator from Legislative District 25.

Pearce lost both of those contests by around 12 points. During the recall, Ludders chaired a PAC, which tried to aid Pearce with an 11th hour robocall featuring a voice that either sounded like "the Most Interesting Man in the World," Ricardo Montalban, or local GOP activist Jose Borrajero, though Borrajero has denied any involvement, despite claims by others to the contrary.

Ludders name popped up in 2012 as I was researching the "Arizona Teacher's [sic] Association," which endorsed Pearce. Ludders was not a member of the association, but he knew one of those involved in it. I talked with him then for a blog item.

In fact, I have to say, I've gotten along fine with Ludders heretofore. He even came up to fist-bump me after the February 16, Shadow Army meeting that videographer Dennis Gilman and I staked out.

So I called him up after someone forwarded me this notice sent out via his email. But Ludders declined to comment.

Wonder if they'll be discussing Chad Willems' faux pro-Joe petition this evening? Ah, to be a fly on that wall...
