Change his name to Dunn-zo because Chandler Mayor Boyd Dunn is out.
Dunn pulled the plug on his campaign for Maricopa County Attorney yesterday claiming that since former County Attorney Andrew Thomas no longer ran the show, the office was back on the right track.

"Under the previous administration, the office had lost its effectiveness as a prosecutorial agency and my primary reason for running was to fix this problem and restore the office," Dunn says in the statement. "However, the circumstances of the office have changed. After consulting with several people, I have learned that things are on an upturn; morale is improving, relationships are healing, and public trust is being restored."
As we pointed out yesterday, Dunn, a divorce lawyer, probably quit because he had no chance at actually winning the GOP primary against former -- and now interim -- County Attorney Rick Romley, and longtime prosecutor Bill Montgomery.
Whatever Dunn's real motives for bailing on the race may be, it raises a good question: is the County Attorney's Office in good shape now that Thomas no longer rules the roost or did Dunn just realize he had no shot at winning?
