For the second time in two weeks, people are dead after they picked the wrong booze hound from whom they attempted to steal beer.
On August 27, a man tried to rob beer from 21-year-old Stefan Selvy. The guy hit Selvy with a wrench so Selvy shot and killed him.
He wasn't charged with a crime.
On Sunday, a group of suspected gang members tried to steal a keg from a party, to which they showed up uninvited.
After a scuffle -- and after the suspected gangsters revealed they were armed -- the homeowner, who had a permit to carry a concealed weapon, shot and killed two of the thugs, while their buddies made off with the keg.
The homeowner, like Selvy, was not charged with a crime.
Arizona's gun laws are lax, to say the least, but they're lax for a reason. That reason seems to be to prevent thugs from actin' the fool without consequences. The shooters in these cases seem justified in unloading on the bad guys but, we're sure, the anti-gun crowd might disagree.
