It's no secret that we at New Times are no fans of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, but even we have to ask: is depicting America's self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff" as Adolf Hitler over the line?
A painting at the "Footprints" art show, featuring anti-SB 1070 art, depicts Arpaio as Hitler. Check it out after the jump.
The painting is called El Mas Rudo, and is the creation of Francisco Banuelos. It's one of several less-than-subtle pieces of political art found at the show.

Arpaio's no champion for human rights, but as far as we know, he didn't have millions of people killed. So the comparison to Hitler may be a little unfair.
However, if you ask staunch supporters of the anti-SB 1070 movement, it's unfair all right...to Hitler.
