The Phoenix Suns put up 40 three-point attempts, and sank 22 of them, Sunday night in Los Angeles as the Suns upset the first-place Lakers 121-116. Turns out the 22 treys is one off an NBA record set by the Orlando Magic last year. No matter -- beating the Lakers on their home court (first time this season, BTW) may be a huge early-season lift for the up-and-down Suns, especially because it expands their winning streak to two after beating the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.
Nash had another big game on Sunday in L.A., scoring 21 points, handing out 13 assists, and going 7-for-7 at the free throw line. But the game really belong to Jason Richardson, who scored 35 points, who made seven three-pointers and pulled down eight rebounds. Channing Frye came off the bench in a huge way, hitting four three-pointers and racking up 20 points on the night. And Hedo Turkoglu went off with five threes to finish with 17 points.
