Yes, Playboy is still around, and "Miss April 2014" is a local.

Playboy's marketing department tells us "Miss April," Shanice Jordyn, went to high school in Ahwatukee, and now attends Arizona State University.

You know, back in the day, parents used to fret over the prospect of their daughters appearing in the Playboy centerfold. With the advent of local products like the Backroom Casting Couch -- where several ASU students have, uh, "modeled" -- Playboy doesn't seem like a bad option.

Playboy tells us Shanice "is a junior at ASU, taking online classes for general studies, and currently works as a dental hygienist with hopes of attending dental school upon graduation."

Some light Internet stalking reveals she reportedly was a pretty good basketball player at Mountain Pointe High School, and formerly worked at a Hooters restaurant.

Shanice was also featured in an October issue, which had a feature titled "Girls of the Pac 12."

Playboy says the issue is on newsstands and online now, if you're into that sort of thing.
