John McCain's former rogue running-mate, Sarah Palin, was photographed on a Hawaiian beach this week wearing a McCain campaign visor with McCain's name scribbled out with black marker.

Palin says the gesture was no jab at Arizona's senior senator but just her best effort to keep the paparazzi from noticing her.

"In an attempt to 'go incognito,' I Sharpied the logo out on my sun visor so photographers would be less likely to recognize me and bother my kids or other vacationers," Palin says in a statement.

She thought scribbling out McCain's name on the visor she was wearing would keep people from noticing her? She might as well have tried hiding behind a fishing pole.

After the photos were smeared all over the Internet, Palin cut her Hawaiian vacation short -- taking to her Twitter page to take a swipe at the feisty photogs that snapped the shot.

"So cut sunny vacation short (thanks, desperate paparazzi)," she writes.

Shucks! Looks like it's back to snow machines and watching those majestic sunsets over the vast Russian countryside from her back porch.
