This was one of those weeks.
In the Cardinals' 31-20 thumping of the Seattle Seahawks (3-6) yesterday in Glendale, the now 6-3 team's offensive arsenal was on display.
Kurt Warner went with an air assault in the battle of the birds, and Father Time managed to hit just about everyone.
Tim Hightower, Larry Fitzgerald, and Beanie Wells all managed to embarrass the lowly Hawks in the air, and even Anquan Boldin managed to take a break from pouting to get a piece -- a big piece.
After pissing and moaning over last week's last-minute scratch from the roster, Boldin came back with a vengeance.
Kurt hooked up with Boldin eight times for 105 of the Cards 340 total passing yards.
It should be noted that despite the eight touches -- after three of them -- the whiney wide-out still managed to have a pout on his face as he looked downfield, unhappy with his blockers.
While yardage is important, yards after the catch are key. That's where Larry Fitzgerald comes in -- it's very hard to bring this guy down.
In three crucial third downs, Fitzgerald caught the ball well before the first down marker but managed to shake, rattle, and roll his way out of tackles and find the first down.
The backfield didn't miss out on the air assault. Beanie Wells had two catches for 32 yards, and Kurt went to Tim Hightower five times for 21 yards.
Aside from a shaky first half, where they gave up two touchdowns, the defense looked on point.
The Cards defense did give up 472 total yards to the Seahawks, including 308 in the air, but the majority of it came in the first half. When it counted, the Cards kept them out of the end zone.
The D picked off Matt Hasselbeck twice and kept the pressure on the majority of the game.
The Cards have a fairly easy remainder of the season, but, the last time we pointed this out, the Red Birds lost to the Carolina Panthers -- in what was, without a doubt, their worst game of the season. Warner threw five interceptions, and the defense did a whole-lotta nothin'.
Aside from the Vikings in three weeks, the Cards shouldn't have any trouble with any upcoming opponents -- again, depending on which team decides to show up.
The Cards head to St. Louis next week to take on the 1-8 Rams.
