We heard back from Scottsdale lawyer Jordan Rose following our blog post about her column on solar energy in Saturday's Arizona Republic. Rose says she did disclose her connection to the industry.
With her e-mail, she included what she says is the text she submitted to the newspaper. There, at the bottom, is:
Jordan Rose is the Founder & Managing Partner of Rose Law Group in Scottsdale, Arizona. The largest woman-owned law firm in Arizona history, the firm specializes in land-use, water and renewable energy law, as well as commercial litigation.
The Republic, perhaps only to save space, deleted the second sentence. In doing so, it erased the fair notice to readers that Rose has a monetary incentive to push solar energy.
And let's face it, that means you've got to take with a grain of salt what she says about the supposed benefits of all those federal subsidies (which, by the way, we're borrowing money for).
We left a message at the Republic, but nobody's returned the call yet. We understand why employees might not want to answer their phones today.
