Republican Congressman Trent Franks' obsession with abortion has now gone international.
Franks, whose numerous anti-abortion proposals have been signed into law exactly zero times, is now concerned about the state of abortion in Ireland. Ireland.

Franks joined 15 of his colleagues in the House of Representatives to pen a letter to the Taoiseach (prime minister of Ireland), which was apparently interesting enough to the Irish that it was explained in a national newspaper.
Franks and his buddies, apparently out of shit to do here on the home front, asked the Taoiseach "to halt any attempt to legalise abortion here and to ensure that Ireland remains "staunchly pro-life," according to the Irish Examiner.
The Irish Examiner says Franks and company are "concerned" that a group assembled by the country's health minister -- which is tasked with presenting a report on abortion -- may have some pro-choice members.
According to the paper, the group is expected to recommend regulation or legislation related to abortion in Ireland -- where abortions are illegal in almost all cases.

"A concern has been expressed to us that the composition of the expert group seems predisposed to issue recommendations that infringe on the right to life, rather than a simple clarification," says the letter.
"The absence of experts of known pro-life views and the presence of some of known pro-abortion views were especially noted," say the members of Congress.
Franks is described in the paper as the guy who tried to regulate abortion in Washington D.C., and the guy who called President Obama the "abortion president."
According to the comments on a website for another Irish paper, nobody gives a damn what Franks thinks.
