Attention Republican Congressman Trent Franks: we get it -- you don't like abortion.

As we've been chronicling here for a few years now, Franks' fanaticism about abortion almost rivals that of the people who stand outside Planned Parenthood locations with posters full of fetus photos, shouting "murderer" at anyone who may be going inside -- and Franks' trend of fanaticism continues.

This time, Franks was asked to respond to President Obama's State of the Union speech, in which he mentioned the Newtown, Connecticut massacre and gun violence against children as part of his pitch for gun-control laws.

Franks, in a way that only he could, responded by talking about abortion.

"He talks of 1,000 little birthdays that won't occur because of the tragedies of the last month," Franks told the Huffington Post's Michael McAuliff. "And yet he leaves out the 4,000 little birthdays that won't occur because of what happened in abortion clinics in the last 24 hours," he said.

This isn't surprising from Franks, who claimed that abortion is worse for African-Americans than slavery was.

""Some of the president's words about the desire and commitment that we should have for our children should apply to all children, especially the most defenseless of all children, that being the unborn," McAuliff's report continues. "And yet, this is the abortion president, that speaks to us now of protecting children.

And there's the reason we file these stories under the category, "Trent Franks (Sigh)."

Far less surprising, the Arizona's Politics blog found that Franks is reintroducing his bill to ban sex- and gender-based abortions. That bill failed in Franks' multiple previous attempts, just like every single other bill Franks has introduced in the last 10 years. Just one of his bills has ever passed the House.
