A woman who complained to US Airways received a shocking Twitter message in reply -- a picture of a woman masturbating with a scale model of a Boeing 777.

According to jalpoknik.com, the US Airways tweet with the X-rated photo remained up for more than 20 minutes before the company took it down.

The official US Airways Twitter site now displays the following apology message:

"We apologize for an inappropriate image recently shared as a link in one of our responses. We've removed the tweet and are investigating."

The original picture was tweeted first, it seems, by Twitter user ArtxDealer, about an hour before US Airways used it on its site.

"@AmericanAir WTF ONE OF YOUR PLAINES JUST CRASHED INTO MY PUSSY," ArtxDealer wrote as the picture's caption. The ArtxDealer site has been busy tweeting about the incident this morning -- and taking at least one complaint by someone who didn't appreciate what had happened:

"Miguel, Rihanna and Nicki" of the ArtxDealer site seem to be having fun with their sudden fame. Noting that the tweet has been a top-trending topic at US Airways for more than an hour, they write, "Where my money at?"

Seeing as how the link to the vagina picture was part of a legitimate Twitter message responding to a complaint, it appears to have been an accident. But odds are, someone in US Airways' social media department is not having a good day.

Here's the response US Airways just gave to BusinessInsider.com:

"We apologize for the inappropriate image we recently shared in a Twitter response. Our investigation has determined that the image was initially posted to our Twitter feed by another user. We captured the tweet to flag it as inappropriate. Unfortunately the image was inadvertently included in a response to a customer. We immediately realized the error and removed our tweet. We deeply regret the mistake and we are currently reviewing our processes to prevent such errors in the future."
