A video of Arizona Department of Public Safety officers chasing a Yorkshire terrier on a Phoenix freeway is making the rounds on the Internet, and seems to be quite popular with the British.
"Who let the dog out! Terrier on the run leads police on frantic OJ Simpson-style highway chase," screams the Daily Mail.
"Pesky pooch in motorway mayhem," says the Sun.
It's a darned cute video, (see it below), with a couple of heart-stopping moments as the short-legged pup runs into traffic and seems seconds away from being splattered.
ABC-15 (KNXV-TV) had its chopper in the air on Wednesday and shot the video of the canine, which had run away from the scene of a collision.
From the accompanying story by 15's Brian Webb:
DPS Officer Martin Bennett captured the pooch. "Our main concern is for the dog's safety and for the safety of others on the highway," said Bennett, who is 6 feet 10 inches tall."The jokes are already rolling in," he said. "I'm sure this will be mentioned at my retirement party years from now. I was just happy to get the dog and get him to safety."
He thinks the dog was a Yorkie. It reportedly tried to bite him when he picked it up.
