We can't think of a better way to wind down at the end of the year than by listening to live music while sipping on a glass of wine -- and conveniently, you can catch a live show at Kazimierz World Wine Bar every night of the week. On Tuesday the bar will host Sassy and the Sneak Attack (a "unky-hip-pop-rock-neo soul-r&b" band) from 9 p.m. to midnight or later and the kitchen stays open until 1:30 a.m. From 6 to 8 p.m. you can also catch the 'The Elite Eight,' a selection of 8 items available for $8 each. And by the way if you've never stepped inside this speakeasy-style spot, prepare yourself to be impressed by the wine menu book, which includes thousands of wines from all over the world.

The Upton Wednesday, December 31

If you're still looking for a spot to spend your New Year's Eve, The Upton is ready to host you with a special menu and complimentary toast. On Wednesday the restaurant will be serving an a la carte menu with dishes such as Grilled heirloom cherry tomato and pork belly skewers with saba; Foie and wagyu bone marrow pâté with burnt sugar and a baguette; New York strip steak with a potato tart with salt and vinegar crust and ruby beet onions; and Miso vegan ramen with crazy noodles, mushrooms, and organic tofu. Guests will also have the option to order an eclectic three-course dinner including a complimentary champagne toast for $60 per person. Everyone will get a complimentary 12 a.m. toast of either champagne or The Upton's specialty cocktail, the Midnight Revival. Call 480-991-6887 for a reservation.

Barrio Queen Thursday, January 1

When you're looking to cure that New Year's Day hangover keep in mind that Barrio Queen in Scottsdale will serving a special Mexican brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday. Some of the special entree options will include Arrachera, or grilled flank steak topped with two eggs, roasted poblanos and red onions, served with hand pressed warm tortillas; Tres Leches French Toast, tres leches and egg battered bolillo bread, topped with chopped pecans, strawberries, whipped cream, and Kahlua sauce; and Chile Verde Con Huevos, or two eggs covered with slow cooked pork green chile over house-made tortillas and quesillo cheese. Drink specials will include $5 Bloody Marys, Bloody Marias, Mimosas, Micheladas and Beeritas all day long.
