Umami Tempe Tonight
If you missed the ramen mashup at Posh in March, then you definitely don't want to miss part two of this local chef collaboration. Tonight some of the Valley top ramen minds will come together including chefs Jared Lupin and Rebecca Noorda of Umami, who will host chef Josh Herbert of Scottsdale's Posh restaurant at their Tempe ramen shop. The evening will feature signature ramen bowls for $12, along with a special menu that includes other Japanese entrees and smaller bento items. Stop by between 5 and 9 p.m. to get your noodle fix.
Cowboy Ciao Wednesday, May 13
Anyone who's experienced Cowboy Ciao's book of 1800+ wines knows how intimidating it can be to choose something from the huge expanse of options. With so many choices, your FOMO — that's "fear of missing out" — can run high as you contemplate the 1799 bottles you won't get to experience. This Wednesday you can ease that suffering when Page Springs Cellars and Arizona Stronghold owner/winemaker Eric Glomski and Page Springs Chef Bryan Nowicki pair up to create a five course dinner with ten different wine pairings for the most recent edition of the restaurant's Sommelier Showdown series. Roosevelt Garden Growhouse Friday, May 15
Celebrate local, sustainable food this Friday at Roosevelt Garden Growhouse's CultivEAT event. Pane Bianco chef Robbie Tutlewski will prepare a four-course meal featuring produce and products from local suppliers such as Xericopia Urban Gardens, Crow's Dairy, and The Meat Shop. Dinner will be accompanied by beer and wine pairings from Four Peaks Brewing Company and Grand Canyon Wine Co. The evening will also feature mini presentations on aquaponics gardening from Phoenix Union Bioscience High School students. Tickets costs $70, which includes dinner and two drinks. A cash bar will also be available. Proceeds benefit the downtown Phoenix area, with the money going back into the Growhouse Garden and Evans Churchill Community Association.
