To celebrate the opening of its newest location in Phoenix at Seventh Avenue and McDowell, MAD Greens is hosting Free Salad Day. From 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., those who stop by MAD Greens will receive a free beverage and full-size salad of their choice, with the option to donate to Phoenix Children's Hospital's Hope Fund. Bar Flies: Take a Walk at Valley Bar and Crescent Ballroom

New Times presents a special Best of Phoenix edition of Bar Flies this Wednesday in downtown Phoenix. Along with the Museum of Walking and Scottsdale Public Art, the special Bar Flies event begins at Valley Bar at 5 p.m. and ends at Crescent Ballroom. Attendees are invited join a group walk to Crescent from Valley Bar at 6 p.m. — the same walk the readers used as inspiration for their stories. Readers include Becky Bartowski, Rebecca Fish Ewan, Brandon Ferderer, Tani Katan, Laurie Notaro, and Sativa Peterson. Stories will begin at Crescent Ballroom at 7:00 p.m., and tickets cost $10 per person. Special themed cocktails will be sold, with a portion of proceeds going to the Museum of Walking and Scottsdale Public Art.


Distiller's Edition Scotch Dinner at The Gladly
Wednesday, September 30

This Wednesday evening, the Gladly will host a four-course scotch dinner with rare distiller's edition scotches from Glenkinchie, Dalwhinnie, Talisker, and Mortlach. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., The Gladly and Master of Whiskey Dr. Tom Turner will serve courses including a 72-hour short rib with smoked bone marrow barley porridge and fig jam alongside Talisker Distiller's Edition whisky.
