Eddie's House Monday, April 14
Passover begins at sunset today and that means it's time for Seder. But don't worry if you didn't make plans for the festive feast because Eddie's House in Scottsdale has got you covered. The restaurant will be serving a Passover feast that includes four courses. Diners can pick between gefilte fish salad or organic tomato and mozzarella salad; chicken matzo ball soup or potato and caramelized onion knish; and a choice of a chicken, beef brisket, or salmon entree. J&G Steakhouse Monday, April 14
This week J&G Steakhouse at the Phoenician will be celebrating their five year anniversary with a special five-course menu priced at $55. Chef Jacques Qualin's menu includes the J&G Chopped Salad; tuna tartare with avocado, spicy radish, and ginger marinade; slowly roasted Alaskan halibut with vegetable vinaigrette and cilantro seasoning; caramelized beef tenderloin with carrots with miso mustard; and warm chocolate cake with caramel ice cream. RA Sushi Tuesday, April 15
Hopefully you've already filed those pesky taxes by now, but if not how about indulging in a few drinks to make you forget about them all together? This Tuesday in honor of Tax Day the Valley's Ra Sushi restaurants will be extending happy hour from 3 p.m. until close. Happy hour deals include more than 35 sushi, appetizer, and tapas selections, as well as beer, wine, sake, and signature cocktails. Some popular options include the Tootsy Maki roll, Viva Las Vegas Roll, Salmon Carpaccio and Pineapple Cheese Wontons.
Classic Cooking Academy Thursday, April 17
We've always wanted to learn to make our own pasta but jumping into such a project can be pretty intimidating. Luckily Classic Cooking Academy in Scottsdale is offering a ravioli workshop during which students will learn how to master the art of making ravioli. The class will cover how to make fresh sheets of pasta as well as how to make three different types of ravioli fillings and sauces to complement each one. The workshop, which runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. will be limited to 18 students and costs $50. You can register on the Classic Cooking Academy website.
Tomaso's
This week Tomaso's will join restaurants all over the country in honoring Marcella Hazan, the "the mother of Italian cuisine," by serving a version of one of Hazan's best-known dishes. Tomaso's will be serving a take on Hazan's recipe for Busara-style pasta sauce, which translates to "thrown together." Today through Friday the restaurant will offer Lobster and Prawns Busara with a portion of the proceeds from the dish will go to the International Culinary Center's Marcella Hazan Scholarship Fund. The fund helps one student to enroll in the Italian Culinary Experience, which will allows him or her to study in Marcella's home province of Emilia-Romagna.
