Quiessence at the Farm at South Mountain Tuesday, August 5

Starting this week and continuing through the month of August, Quiessence at the Farm at South Mountain will be offering A Taste of Quiessence summer dining experience. For the event chef Dustin Christofolo will be creating a three-course tasting menu using fresh and local ingredients from producers throughout the Valley and the restaurant's edible garden. A Taste of Quiesence will be available to the first 12 guests that call 602-276-0601 each Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in August. Just mention "A Taste of Quiessence" and reserve a seat. The dinner costs $40 a person.

Postino Central Tuesday, August 5

Tomorrow you'll have a chance to learn everything you've ever wanted to know about wine but have been afraid to ask when Postino Central hosts its DIY: Wine 101 class. The crash-course in wine will cover topics such as how to identify key components of wine and attendees will also get to take home a bottle from the restaurant's tasting selection. The Wine 101 Class starts a 5 p.m. and goes until 6:30 p.m. The cost is $40 a person. RSVP to [email protected] for a spot.

Texaz Grill Wednesday, August 6

This week soda fanatics will be celebrating National Root Beer float day on Wednesday, August 6. And if you just can't resist indulging in one yourself, head to Texaz Grill in Phoenix. The restaurant will be serving a root beer float for $2.50 all day. Their version includes craft-brewed Louisiana Abita Root Beer and creamy, decadent Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream for an authentic taste of the South.

Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort Now through August 24

In addition to this prix-fixe summer dining deal, the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort is embracing the recent heat wave with even more special summer offers. Since we set a new record high of 116 degrees on Thursday, July 24 the resort is launching two new deals available now through August 24. At the resort's Lookout Mountain Golf Course you can mention code "116" and get two complimentary non-alcoholic beverages during a round of golf. Proof, an American Canteen Friday, August 8

Head up to Proof, an American Canteen at the Four Seasons resort in Scottsdale to celebrate summer with a fried chicken cook-out on Friday nights in August. The restaurant will be serving fried chicken, Cajun fries, coleslaw and accompanying sauces for $28 a person, with an extra serving of chicken available for $10.
