Arizona Brewery Tours began in 2012, as a way to showcase locally owned craft breweries in the Valley. The concept, which provides transportation to and from breweries, was started by self proclaimed "HOP-Heads" John Alvarado and Johnny-boi Alvarado.
The four-and-a-half to five-hour tour includes a visit to three craft breweries, beer tastings, and a meal. "HOP-On" tours have a capacity of 15 seats, which provides an opportunity to meet new people who are passionate about beer.
Arizona Brewery Tours include a behind the scenes look at brewpubs, microbreweries, and nanobreweries. More than ten breweries across the Valley participate in the tours. Breweries vary in location from SanTan Brewing Company, in Chandler, to O.H.S.O. in Arcadia and Phoenix Ale Brewery and Taproom in Central Phoenix.
Friday HOP-On Tours and Weekend HOP-On Tours cost $89 per person, not including driver gratuity. Wednesday Barrel Aged Tours are designed for the "over 45 crowd" and include two brewery visits, samples of barrel-aged beers, and lunch at a cost of $75 per person.
Private tours are recommended for a more personalized experience or private event. Tours can accommodate anywhere from two to 40 people. This option allows for passengers to customize their tour by choosing the date, time, and locations. Prices vary depending on group size.
Gift vouchers are available for purchase. Designated pick-ups for HOP-On tours are at Whole Foods Market in Chandler and Valley METRO Park and Ride in Tempe. Special accommodations can also be made for pick-ups.
