Beer For Brains Foundation's Epicuriad Event is April 29

The Beer for Brains Foundation is ready once again to show that craft beer and gourmet street food pair pretty well with a good cause.

It all takes place during this year's Epicuriad event, set for Saturday, April 29, at Allstate Appliances in Scottsdale. The event will feature a dozen chefs from the Street Food Truck Coalition competing against one another in a food, craft beer, and wine pairing competition, all to help raise money for brain cancer research.

The event kicks off with a VIP pre-event that pits Rock-A-Belly’s executive chef Jordan Murray and United Lunchadores' Chef Tim Cobb in a celebrity chef face-off. After a coin flip decides if they cook with beer or wine, the two will have just 35 minutes to make the best entrée they can with limited ingredients on hand.

Then, the main event will invite attendees to sample gourmet food prepared by the 12 Street Food chefs, as well as craft beer and wine, as part of the pairing competition. In addition, attendees will be voting for the “Best Pairing” and “Best Entrée” of the night, while the chefs vie for gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Street Food Trucks in attendance will include Flying’ Hawaiian, Electric Sliders, Left Coast Burrito Co., Mustache Pretzels, and more. Craft beverages will be provided by Carakale Brewery — which comes all the way from the country of Jordan — and Texas’ Deadbeach Brewery.

The VIP pre-event begins at 6:30 p.m., while the main event will run from 7:30 until 10 p.m. General admission tickets are $95 per person; VIP tickets are $150 per person.
