There have already been too many vacancies on Mill Avenue lately -- as a magazine junkie, I'm still mourning the departure of Borders -- and now there's one more. And it's a big one: Coffee Plantation.
It closed this past Saturday. According to the Republic, the landlord didn't renew the lease for the longstanding coffee shop, and a restaurant may be moving in.
How many hours have you spent soaking up the caffeine, surfing the web, gabbing with friends, or reading a book in that place? It's bizarre to think that it disappeared, just like that. Sorry, but Starbucks won't fill that void.
