Last week, when I inquired about the imminent demise of Metro Brasserie at SouthBridge, Spring Creek Development VP Randy Brown scoffed at "more rumors" and denied that the French restaurant would be shutting its doors. And president Fred Unger did not respond to inquiries about the chefs I'd heard he'd been interviewing to take over the space.


But as of today, it's closed for good. 

So much for rumors.

Two-and-a-half-year-old Metro was the second concept to occupy the space since the SouthBridge development opened. FoodBar, the original incarnation, lasted a little more than a year.
