Forks up, Phoenix! Chow Bella and Roosevelt Row present the sixth annual Pie Social at 2 on Saturday, November 21, at the Bioscience High School at 512 East Pierce Street in Phoenix. We've got an all-star lineup of bakers making pies for you to taste, and from now till Pie Social, we'll introduce them to you, one by one, through pie charts designed by each chef to capture his or her persona as a baker.
Today: Danielle Morris of Earnest
Owner and Pastry Chef at Earnest in Chandler, Danielle Morris has plenty of experience with pie. She's been baking since the age of four, and as a kid was the family's "pie girl," the go-to person to make desserts for family gatherings. She went on to study hotel and restaurant administration at Oklahoma State University, and later attended Scottsdale Culinary Institute after realizing her passion lay in making pastries, not just running restaurants. She earned an Associate of Applied Sciences from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts in 2002 and went on to work at some of the Valley's best restaurants including Lon’s at the Hermosa Inn, Renoir at the Mirage in Las Vegas, and Chandler’s own BLD and Cork.
