Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

Dia de los Muertos
The Desert Botanical Gardens welcomes you to come and celebrate the time honored tradition of celebrating the lives of lost loved ones tomorrow, October 28 at Cuisine and Culture of Dia de los Muertos. Thursday's event will feature a dining experience from Barrio Cafe owner Silvana Salcido Esparza, a history presentation from multimedia artist and arts advocate Zarco Guerrero, plus a tequila tasting. A cash bar will also be available for those guests over 21 years of age. Tickets to the event are $45 for members and $55 for non-members. Click here for more information.

Pumpkin Cheese Balls
It can't all be for the kids! We think these little cheese balls are an adorable appetizer for your Halloween party. We didn't want to leave them out just because they haven't received a good dose of artificial orange coloring. These precious Pumpkin Cheese Ball treats are sans actual pumpkin (which is fine by us - we need a break) but make up for it with a delicious combination or red peppers and cream cheese. Also, check out the recipe for Creamy Pumpkin Pie Dip while visiting Kitchen Simplicity's blog. Yum!
