To celebrate the reopening of the Denny's on Scottsdale Road between Drinkwater and Goldwater boulevards, the diner chain will give away its most iconic menu item, the Grand Slam breakfast, for the first 100 guests through the door. This location's remodel is part of a company-wide initiative to update 70 percent of the chain's locations by 2018. And that's just one of the changes Denny's plans to make in the future.

In a statement, a Denny's spokesperson said that, along with a revamped look, the restaurants will "unveil an all-new, locally-inspired design and diner menu." With more recent additions focusing on low-calorie meals and decadent guilty pleasure combinations, it seems Denny's is targeting extremes. However, the basic, simple Grand Slam will likely always be around on the Denny's menu.

You can get yours free on March 20 beginning at 9 a.m. if you're one of the first 100 people to order one. If not, the diner will also be offering sporadic prizes, including free lunches and dinners, throughout the day. Or you can just wait for your birthday to get your free breakfast.
