I had to do a double take when I came across this recipe. I make green smoothies nearly every single day, and I like my coffee, too. Never had it occurred to me to combine them. It seems too good to be true, like it's going to end up a disgusting mess of wasted greens and caffeine, but it's not...

Instead, it's like a morning (or afternoon) dream come true. You can have your greens and your coffee, too!

This recipe takes just a little bit of forethought, as it calls for half of a frozen banana. I suggest freezing a whole bagful so you can have them ready whenever you want. You can even prep all the items the night before and have them waiting in the blender to make for an easier morning. After that, it's only a matter of seconds before you're enjoying a nutritious coffee.

Ingredients: 5 ice cubes 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk 1/8 cup whole raw almonds (about 12-18), optional 1 cup baby spinach 1 1/2 teaspoon instant espresso (or instant coffee) 1 tablespoon agave or favorite sweetener 1/2 of a frozen banana

Place all of the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

Special thanks to Taste Love & Nourish for the great recipe.
