As Market Manager Sarah Matlin explained back in August, the decision to move the market to Thursday nights came about due to a lack of attendance on Wednesday nights.

“We’re trying to get our downtown vibe closer to the weekend," Matlin said in August. "We just think Thursday’s energy is a little different.”

Downtown Sundown will also focus more on prepared foods, live entertainment, and providing beer and cocktails — the idea is to make the event as much about gathering the community as it is about getting your groceries. Organizers plan to offer entertainment such as music, film screenings, and performing arts groups. The market will run every Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.
