Manuel Trevino from "Top Chef" is just one of the many chefs who stepped forward in this video address to show their support for one teenager's petition to get Hasbro to market their Easy-Bake Oven in a gender neutral manner.

Joshua Whigham, a Los Angeles chef in the video, showed his support and offered this bit of advice, "Ask Hasbro for a steel, or a black or a something really cool oven. And talk to All-Clad, maybe you can get a good saute pan or something."
The petition is from 13-year-old McKenna Pope who wanted to buy a Hasbro Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven for her 4-year-old brother. Being a loving sister she realized that her brother, whose other request was for a dinosaur, might not appreciate getting a pink or purple oven in a package only featuring girls at play. In her open letter to Hasbro's CEO she says,
Please, Hasbro, I urge you to include males on your packaging, and feature your product in less gender specific colors, such as red, green, or blue.
It does seem more than a little bizarre that in this day and age anyone would consider cooking or baking a gender role specific event. After all, professional curmudgeon Anthony Bourdain is a chef and he's made entirely out of testosterone and expensive booze. Who would accuse Bourdain of being effeminate if he slips some baked goods into an oven?
