There's a lot of great stuff from local and national talent to see at this year's Phoenix Film Festival, and Chipotle is bringing some food for thought to the screen with its animated short The Scarecrow coupled with the documentary GMO OMG. The two-minute short, which has been available online to view, features a lovable animated scarecrow getting his groove back through fresh, naturally grown foods to a Fiona Apple (sorry, Frank Ocean) cover of Willy Wonka's "Pure Imagination." While the short is playful, the documentary is a serious look into how genetically modified foods have taken over our kitchens, markets, and restaurants and how that's affecting us all.

During three separate screenings of the film, Chipotle will give away buy one/get one cards for hungry viewers, but the meat of the matter is really in the documentary.
The films will screen at the Phoenix Film Festival at the Harkins Scottsdale 101 theaters. The Scarecrow will show at 1:15 p.m. Friday, April 4 at 1:15 p.m. and 11:05 a.m Saturday, April 5. GMO OMG is screening just once, at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, April 6. For tickets and more information, visit the festival's website.
