It seems as if we've been waiting for Chick Rotisserie & Wine Bar in Arcadia to open for, well, almost forever. From Allen and Traci Thompson, owners of next-door neighbor The Grind, and headed up by its chef, Bevin O'Neil, Chick's been "coming soon" for so long that Sam Fox had time to build his new NoRTH location across the street from the ground up -- and open it to the public -- while Chick's doors remained closed.

But enough about the past. Let's check out Chick.

Set to open Thursday, March 15, Chick Rotisserie & Wine Bar, located next door to The Grind in the Arcadia Village shopping center on the southwest corner of Camelback and 40th Street, will serve lunch and dinner daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The menu will focus on American rotisserie comfort food, featuring meats such as chicken, pork, ribs, duck, brisket, and prime rib. Additional items include salads, sandwiches, wraps, soups, and weekly blackboard specials. O'Neil will be on hand with signature sauces and glazes such as black truffle, garlic cream, and peach barbecue in addition to cooking up his homemade cinnamon rolls, buttermilk cheese biscuits, chicken and dumplings, crème brulee, and pies. Lunch and dinner entrees will range from $8 to $18, and appetizers, sides, and desserts will start at $6.

"We've yet to find anything like Chick Rotisserie & Wine Bar in the United States," say owners Allen and Traci Thompson. "All of the meats will be cooked to perfection on a special rotisserie rack and Bevin has created some delicious glazes and marinades for the meat. We're also anticipating a large to-go business since our organic, hormone-free chickens can be sold as an entire bird with two sides for less than $30."

Inside the new restaurant, which seats about 80, guests will be able to see the fire and movement of the rotisserie racks in addition to a large wine display over the bar. Craft beers and cocktails will also be available.
