So remember when the big beef recall quickly fizzled in the collective concern of meat lovers because the list primarily consisted of uncommon cuts like tripe, tongue, and lips? Well, turns out some of those odd beef parts are found in Hot Pockets. The Rancho Feeding Corporation, which was at the heart of the recall, provided meat to the Nestle-brand microwave snack for its Philly Steak and Cheese line of products, which the company now has voluntarily recalled after concern from the FDA.

According to the FDA, "approximately 8,742,700 pounds" of meat were recalled from Rancho Feeding Corporation "because it processed diseased and unsound animals and carried out these activities without the benefit or full benefit of federal inspection." The list includes chic offal cuts such as sweetbreads, oxtail, and even veal.
Nestle said in a statement that its recall is limited only to Philly Steak and Cheese-style Hot Pockets and all other products are not affected. The statement went on to explain that the company "did not purchase meat directly from Rancho," but the supply chain "may have purchased meat from Rancho." You can find out if your Hot Pockets are subject to recall by the batch codes on the chart below, which are products that the company will fully refund.
