'Made in Arizona' Beer Festival to Celebrate Local Ales Saturday

The Valley has many beer festivals, but the second annual Eight Craft Beer Festival will be the first to focus solely on beers made in Arizona.

Dubbed "Made in Arizona," the event will take place 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Lath House Pavilion in downtown Phoenix's Heritage Square. Co-sponsors are Valley PBS station KAET, creator of the TV special "Craft Beer: The New Wine," and the Arizona Brewers Guild.


Nineteen of the 22 Arizona breweries are scheduled to participate, including Four PeaksSanTanSunUpPrescottFlagstaffGrand CanyonOak CreekBeaver CreekOld WorldSleepy Dog and Barrio.

Besides beer samples, there also will be a wide range of foods made with beer. The menu includes porter beef stew, peanut butter beer hot wings, beer salsa with chips, pale ale-stuffed mushrooms, ham croissants with raisin Wit sauce and chocolate porter cake, just to name a few.

Tickets for the festival are $65 per person. All attendees must be 21 or over.
