Wetta Ventures, the developer behind local projects such as the Annex in Tempe, announced plans Tuesday for a multi-restaurant development project at Arizona State University's SkySong.
The $5 million Scottsdale development will include three to four tenants, one of which is planned to be a 4,500-square-foot farm-to-table restaurant. The development also will feature a 3,000-square-foot garden.
Wetta Ventures is still looking for prospective restaurants to fill the space. These restaurants would be slated to open in the fall of 2016.
Developers don't expect to break ground on the project, which will be located on the northeast corner of Scottsdale Road and SkySong Boulevard, until January 2016. They expect to be completed by the second quarter of 2016.
This new development will be the first and only restaurant project to service SkySong. The 42-acre development — which is techincally named SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center — is the result of a partnership between the city of Scottsdale and the Arizona State University Foundation for a New American University. The first phase opened in 2008.
Wetta Ventures other projects include the development of the Annex (615 South College) at ASU's Tempe campus, which features Postino Winecafe and Snooze, an AM Eatery; the adaptive reuse project, Old School O7; and a retail and office project on the Camelback Corridor, called CB20.
