A popular new spot in the Ahwatukee foothills is opening up a second location after less than a year. The Perfect Pear Bistro will open in Tempe later next month, bringing its "new American comfort food" and bistro eats to the corner of Priest Drive and Ray Road.

The restaurant is scheduled to open the last week of September in south Tempe about six miles from the original location in Ahwatukee. The menu includes Italian and American classics such as eight different bruschetta options, soup, salad, and several pasta dishes.
Owned by couple Laura and Chris Hove, who have opened over 30 different restaurants over the years in four different states, both grew up in the Valley and have opened Ling & Louie's in Scottsdale, as well as several different Pei Wei restaurants. However, the couple's idea for Perfect Pear was to focus heavily on local products like regional craft beer and wine and vegetarian dishes, since Laura is a vegetarian herself.
"We support locally owned vendors," Chris Hove said in a statement. "We feel it is our responsibility to provide the freshest ingredients and our local purveyors deliver artisan bread and produce daily."
