On the heels of opening Postino East in Gilbert, the team behind the three-restaurant mini-chain in addition to Windsor/Churn have announced plans for a new restaurant in North Central Phoenix.

"The neighborhood and community that surrounds the area is so special," Bailey tells me, "and we could not pass up an opportunity to do something great in such a historically significant space."

The two-couple team of Lauren and Wyatt Bailey and Craig and Kris DeMarco will use the historic Al Beadle building at 5210 North Central Avenue in Phoenix (just north of Camelback Road) as the location for the new restaurant, which they hope to open late this year. Named for the modernist architect who worked in Phoenix in the 1950s, the building originally housed the First Federal Savings & Loan Bank.

Bailey tells me the team is in the process of coming up with ideas for what the new restaurant will be, but have agreed to used the word federal in the name given the former building's occupant.
