If you're a fan of dark dining rooms, good- looking people, and Korean barbecue short ribs, then you might want to know about ROK Social House, a new-ish restaurant and bar in Old Town Scottsdale.
The dining and drinking spot comes courtesy of Andrew Nam, as in the man behind such similarly themed spots as Geisha-A-Go-Go and Stingray Sushi, and is located in the former home of Smashboxx nightclub.

During Social Hour, offered from 7 to 10 p.m., the restaurant strays from the traditional Korean offerings with options such as Korean-inspired burritos and tacos. There are also Korean Spicy Wings ($5), Spam Sliders ($5), and Kogi Tots, a creation that includes tater tots, melted cheese, bulgogi, pickled jalapeños, and kimchee pico de gallo.
The small dinner menu offers more of the usual fare such as kalbi short ribs, marinated bulgogi beef, and Korean dumplings called mandu. The most ingenious items on the menu are probably the $2 cups of Neoguri and Shin Ramen -- a perfect cheap eat for people really looking to fill up on booze.
And when it comes to booze, there's plenty. The restaurant and bar offers a selection of soju and soju-focused cocktails including the Drunken Tiger ($10) made with soju, makgeolli, orange juice, grapefruit juice, pineapple juice, and guava syrup.
