Snag a FREE Meal at Joe's Real BBQ Next Wednesday

The word "FREE" is the Holy Grail of any culinary giveaway. Of course, "FREE" usually comes with some caveat like "buy one, get one free" or "free dessert with entree purchase."

Not so with Joe's Real BBQ, the award-winning barbecue joint in the heart of downtown Gilbert.

Next Wednesday, May 4, Joe's Real BBQ will give away thousands of no-strings-attached free meals as part of its annual Customer Appreciation Day. Founder Joe Johnston, who is also the man behind Joe's Farm Grill and Liberty Market, started the tradition back in 2000. Since then, the restaurant has given away nearly 45,000 free meals as part of the annual feast.

Next Wednesday, show up for lunch or dinner and get a free BBQ meat sandwich with two sides and a drink. Seriously, leave your wallet at home.

There is one small catch, though...

Considering Joe's expects to give away about 6,000 sandwiches, you'll likely have to wait on a good-sized line to take advantage of the special -- which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Book donations for Loving Through Literacy will be accepted during the event, though no donation is required to take advantage of the food freebies.
