Taste the Nation

Help Share Our Strength fight childhood hunger by stuffing your own face with exquisite eats from Valley chefs at the 2011 Taste the Nation Friday, May 13th. Watch 15 expert mixologists go head to head in a battle to see who can mix up the tastiest booze-filled concoction. Then sit down to a five-course meal, paired with wine and specialty cocktails, featuring a dinner made specifically for their table (each table seats 10) by one of 15 participating restaurants including Bourbon Steak, T. Cook's, Fred's and La Hacienda. The charity event features both a silent and a live auction. $100 - $200 per person. Proceeds will be donated to St. Mary's Food Bank and The Association of Arizona Food Banks. To learn more or to purchase tickets click here

Pretty Asparagus
That, my friends, is actually not really asparagus at all. It's a cake. An 8-layer chocolate cake wrapped with 150 fondant spears and then topped with 400 fondant tips, to be exact, and It's beautiful! Check out Sweetopolita.com for tons of lovely photos of the asparagus cake and lots more. Enjoy!
