Scottsdale will lose a standby dining and drinking spot this Sunday when chef Aaron May's The Lodge closes its doors for good. Known for its cabin-esque atmosphere and infamous Sasquatch Burger, The Lodge has been a popular locale for dining and drinking during the day and night.
The silver lining to the loss is that May and his Lodge co-owners have purchased another nearby bar. Owner Quinn Goldsberry says they won't be changing the new spot into The Lodge, but that they will be re-opening the bar elsewhere.

May and the folks behind The Lodge have purchased Shotgun Betty's, another Old Town drinking destination located at 7330 E. Stetson Drive. Goldsberry says they'll continue operating the bar as Shotgun Betty's for at least a few weeks before unveiling a new concept in the space. They'll officially announce the name later down the line.
As for The Lodge, you can bet it's going out with a bang. All this weekend the restaurant and bar will host live music from acts such as Psychobilly Rodeo and James Otto . In between acts there will be a live DJ for entertainment while guests enjoy a beer garden and outdoor barbecue.
Eventually the restaurant will relocate to Tempe. The Lodge will take over the former home of the Sail Inn at 26 S. Farmer Avenue, placing the restaurant and bar across the street from Sam Fox's The Yard Tempe, which will also include a new location of May's breakfast spot Over Easy.
Goldsberry says the new The Lodge will be "very similar" to the Scottsdale location.
