Chef Tomaso Maggiore's namesake restaurant has long been a fixture of the Camelback Corridor, thanks in no small part to its prominent location on the northeast corner of 32nd Street and Camelback Road. Many restaurants have come and gone since the restaurant debuted nearly 40 years ago, but the white tablecloth destination for classic Italian fare has marched steadily on.
But it turns out, Tomaso's isn't just surviving — it's expanding. According to Maggiore Culinary Concepts, the family restaurant group Maggiore operates along with his children, a second location of Tomaso's Italian Restaurant is set to open this summer in north Scottsdale. An exact location for the restaurant has yet to be announced.
The restaurant group also plans to open additional locations of The Hash Kitchen, the breakfast and brunch spot Tomaso Maggiore's son, Joey, opened at the Shops at Gainey Village last year. The second location of the restaurant, which is known for its extensive Bloody Mary bar, will open in north Scottsdale in summer 2016. A third location is planned for the Arcadia neighborhood in early 2017.
Hogs N' Hops, a barbecue restaurant also owned by the culinary group, which was located adjacent to The Hash Kitchen, has "temporarily" closed and will "strategically" relocate, according to a press release.
