Care for a little wine with that wax? How about some fire-roasted Mexican corn with that fill up? For those who think they've seen it all, welcome to Tom's Thumb Fresh Market.
Like the love child spawned from an errand-running orgy involving a car wash, gas station, coffee shop, bistro, farmers' market, and wine shop, Tom's in North Scottsdale, which opened in mid-January, has made these everyday activities extraordinary -- by conveniently (and ambitiously) putting them all in one place.
And you might be surprised at who's in the kitchen.
Along with the full-service fuel station and premium car wash, guests at Tom's (on the southwest corner of 94th Street and Bell Road) can also enjoy a cup of Pinnacle Perk Coffee, find a new favorite wine with the help of a sommelier, and browse a market of fresh cheeses, produce, and unique grocery items.
Hungry? Pop into The Campfire Bistro at Tom's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner courtesy of chef Tudie Frank-Johnson, formerly chef and owner of D'licious Dishes, the gourmet take-out eatery in Phoenix that closed last August after a three-year run. Featuring Frank Johnson's Southern-style barbecue (also available for take-out), the menu also includes a blackened Angus burger, fried oyster sandwich, and red chili cheese enchiladas.
