The waffle is a beautifully presented hunk of sweet bread, but what if you're not in the mood for a traditional take on a waffle. Well, Daniel Shumski is here to say you can use the waffle iron to make nearly anything, from fried eggs to pizza, and he'll be at Changing Hands Bookstore later this month to share his secrets for waffled everything.

Shumski's new book Will It Waffle? and his Waffleizer blog that preceded it were all based on a simple idea: finding out just how much you can really cook on a waffle iron. If you're anything like us, yours sits sad and unused in the back of your kitchen cabinets most of the time, but Shumski's book will show you how to cook almost anything on your waffle iron, be it a hearty steak or a sweet apple pie.

You can buy Shumski's Will It Waffle, which include 53 waffle iron recipes, from Changing Hands for $14.95. Then you can have Shumski answer all of your burning waffleizing questions at Changing Hands' Phoenix location on Friday, September 19 at 7 p.m.
