On the heels of the news that Portillo's is bringing its Chicago hot dogs, Italian Beef, and drool-worthy cake shakes to the Valley (woo-hoo!), another Windy City favorite has announced its foray into Arizona, as well.

Known as the pioneer of the neighborhood trattoria and a Chicago institution for 20 years, Mia Francesca is now open on Market Street at DC Ranch in Scottsdale (in the former space of San Felipe Cantina). With over two-dozen locations, mostly in Illinois, Mia Francesca serves up reasonably priced regional Italian fare courtesy of chef and restaurateur Scott Harris. The chef at the DC Ranch location will be Phoenix resident Alfonso Fonseca, who has been with the Francesca's restaurant group for over a year.

Read on for more details, take a look at the menu, and find out when the wine bar and casual Italian restaurant, Davanti Enoteca, the newest concept from Harris and an affiliate of Francesca's, will open in Paradise Valley.

The menu at Mia Francesca will include pizzas such as the Quattro Stagioni and a Napoletana with arugula, cherry tomatoes, garlic, provolone, and shaved parmesan; pastas such as the Linguine all'Arlecchino and the Rigatoni alla Diavola con Polla; and signature entrees including Pollo Arrosto alla Romano, roasted half chicken with garlic, shallots, rosemary, and lemon, and Pesce Pagliacci, grouper with roasted vegetables.

Old and New World wines and handcrafted cocktails will accompany the food offerings.

Mia Francesca boasts a dining room with exposed wood beams, ornate metal work, and large chandeliers, and also includes a mezzanine level and a large patio with a communal table.

Wine bar and casual Italian restaurant Davanti Enoteca, the newest concept from Harris and an affiliate of Francesca's, will open in Paradise Valley at Scottsdale Road and Lincoln Avenue (at the former location of Quilted Bear) this summer. Paradise Valley will be Davanti Enoteca's third location (the other two are in Chicago and San Diego).
