  • Phoenix Athletes' Blogs Bite on Yardbarker.com

Popular sports Web site Yardbarker.com hosts a slew of superstar bloggers from the world of sports -- Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, tennis pro Rafael Nadal, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, Dallas Mavericks owner Marc Cuban, golf legend Tiger Woods, and NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon are just a handful of the 80 or so notables who've signed up to write blogs on the site. Most of the guest bloggers are dedicated to maintaining a presence on Yarbarker, but the three athletes from Phoenix who have blogs there -- Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi, Phoenix Suns shooting guard Leandro Barbosa, and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald -- have been slipping.

  • Phoenix Mercury Fall to Indiana Fever 93-84 in Disappointing Game Two of WNBA Finals

    E. Groves Diana Taurasi was too late hitting her stride in game two. After a high-paced, high-scoring, record-breaking game one, Valley sports fans turned out at US Airways Center last night for a big disappointment in game two of the WNBA finals. To say the Phoenix Mercury, 2007 WNBA Champions and home to star shooters like league MVP Diana Taurasi and Cappie Pondexter, were off would be an understatement. The team shot a ghastly 39.7 percent from the field, and it wasn't because

  • Championship Rally for Phoenix Mercury Tonight at US Airways Center, After They Win Their Second WNBA Title 94-86 Friday Night

Phoenix Mercury players pose with fans, and their two championship trophies. How big of a deal was Friday's WNBA championship game in Phoenix? Well, consider this: the only other time a basketball team's won a championship in this city, it was the Boston Celtics beating the Phoenix Suns on our home court in 1976. When the Phoenix Mercury won their first WNBA championship in 2007, they were in Detroit. And when the Suns won their first NBA championship -- oh wait, never mind. That hasn't
